Writing saved me from myself.
It feels satisfying. The construction of words. Creatively linking them together to say something only you can say. To say something different. Writing made me face the parts of me I was scared to face alone. Writing made me feel less alone.
So on my IG, I am posting prompts that I am writing to, while encouraging other folks to tap into their own creative spirit. Here is my response to the first one...

I was a few days ahead in the writing game and now I' m a few days behind. But here are the last couple of poems I wrote the first week of the month. I am going to be more intentional the next few days with putting writing FIRST!
So with that said, I have a couple of writing prompts I'll be responding to. I'll post those on my IG so be sure to follow me and stay tuned.

Last year I finally, successfully completed the 30/30 challenge, where I wrote 30 poems for the month of April (check out the archive here)!!!!
I don't believe I wrote successively every single day (though I was hanging tough for a long while), but I did complete 30 poems before the month was through (YAY ME!)
Well now it is that time of year where I once again, devote more intentional time to my craft.

Last year I chronicled a new aspect of my self-love journey that included consciously and intentionally dating myself (exclusively for a short period of time). I kind of slacked off in that regard towards the latter half of the year though I did continue self-dating here and there.
For 2019, I put it on my vision board to commit to at least ONE self-date activity of the month. And last Thursday, I honored the commitment for the month of January. Here are some of my reflections from that venture...
